Soft lips brushed the edge of her ear lobe and wet, rough tongue licked a fiery path on the inside. Panting, she puffed air in and out of her open mouth as her body trembled uncontrollably.
Fight this...why?
Rational thinking flew out of the open window of the kitchen as his mouth continued its devastating trail down her neck.
One second she was trying to collect her thoughts, the next she was staring into his eyes and suddenly wishing she hadn't. His need burned bright in his dark eyes, a blazing star of craving in the midnight sky. She was sucked right into orbit, pulled into his soul.

Meet me in The Department Store Ground Floor: Toy & Games with @JorjaLovett #Giveaway

Welcome to my guest author, Jorja Lovett. If you haven't met her, she writes beautifully sensual romance. So when she offered to guest blog, I was delighted. Please make her feel welcome. She's also offering one copy of her latest book, The Department Store, Ground Floor: Toys & Games to one lucky person who leaves a comment.

Over to you, Jorja.

~*~

Unfortunately, there aren't many old fashioned department stores left anymore. Those ancient buildings full of character and history have been replaced by high street clones. It's a shame. I always found something magical stepping inside those art deco doors, romantic even. Who wouldn't want to be swept off their feet in such an intense atmosphere?

My mum used to work in a toy wholesaler with quite a similar feel to a department store. There were many levels, only reachable by a rickety elevator. It was dark and spooky to an eight year old, but to an erotic writer it's the perfect place to conduct a hot affair. My first paid job was in a toy shop, and by chance, so was my last one. So, the toy department was uppermost in my mind when I began this series. Although some of the toys involved aren't exactly PG friendly!

Can I taste you now? #SexySnippets #WIP The Essien Trilogy

Welcome back to Sexy Snippets. This weekly meme is hosted by The Nuthouse Scribblers where we share seven sentences from a published book or work-in-progress. If you're a writer, feel free to join us by signing up at the Sexy Snippets page. Sign up opens every Tuesday and closes midnight every Saturday (UK time).

This week I bring you more from my work-in-progress, Making Scandal. To read the previous snippets from this WIP, click HERE. In this scene, Faith has been resisting the transition from a platonic relationship to something more amorous between them. But Mark is on the charm offensive. Will she hold out?

~*~

"Can I taste you now," he whispered in a low gruff voice, the warm air from his breath lifting the hairs on the back of her head.
Was the loud arrhythmic thudding sound her heart?
His chest pressed against her shoulders, his arousal, hard and burning into her back through the layers of fabric separating them.
"Mark," his name was a soft prayer on her lips, an expectant tremor sliding down her spine as her womb contracted.
Was she saying yes or no? She wasn't sure anymore. The only certainty she could rely on was her body's response to his request—awakened.

Orlando Bloom makes my toes curl #WinterWonderMan #KingdomofHeaven #Giveaway

Welcome to the Winter Wonder Man Blog Hop hosted by H.D. Thomson and Bella Media Management. It runs from January 16th to 19th.

The topic is 'What is it about a movie or book hero that makes our toe curl?'

Of course a good looking man with rugged features, a dimpled grin and a fit body is great. But for me to fall in love with him and fantasize about getting down and dirty with him, he has to be passionate and care about something other than himself and be willing to fight for it.

In two words--honour and integrity, make my toes curl. I'll give you an example.

Trouble just walked into his life #SexySnippets from A Valentine Challenge

If you're a writer, feel free to join us by signing up at the Sexy Snippets page. Sign up opens every Tuesday and closes midnight every Saturday (UK time).

This week I'm sharing from my up coming re-release of A Valentine Challenge which is also going to be out in paperback. This story has been extended and spiced up a little. Re-release date: 14 February 2014. You can check out how to win a paperback copy HERE. I hope you enjoy this little snippet from chapter one.

~*~
Sashaying toward him, lips in a glorious pout, eyes amber-brown and captivating, she came to a halt more than two long strides away from him.

Did she know, if she came any closer he might not be able to keep his hands off her? He wanted to touch her caramel skin, slide his tongue along the curve of her delicate collarbone. Would she taste as delightful as the sweet?

Squeeze—Release—he  curled fingers into his palms and  unclenched them at his sides, fighting the rising need threatening to overwhelm him.

The sound of his pounding heart rivalled the drumbeats  heralding Obiagu masquerades, hot blood scorched his veins, his body ablaze with desire.

It had nothing to do with the early morning sun burning his back and everything to do with the woman standing before him. Trouble!

Yay! I have a shiny new book cover + paperback #Giveaway

Can you tell I have a thing for shiny new book covers? LOL. I'm obsessed with them. In fact, this is the third cover change for this particular book.

Don't roll your eyes at me, silly. *smiles* I have perfectly good reasons for changing it this time.

A Valentine Challenge is coming out in paperback!
And the choir sings "Halleluyah!"

Yes, indeed. Those of you who've been waiting to get your fingers on a printed version, should be very happy. The story has been revised and extended with a few new scenes added.

Anticipated re-release date: 14 February 2014

Without further ado, I give you the new cover for A Valentine Challenge.

Yes, I know what you're thinking. Another one with an abstract / inanimate object on the cover. Well, apparently, people don't feel so shy about picking up a paperback with an inanimate object on the cover as opposed to having half-naked people on the cover. *shrugs* I read that somewhere.

So what do you think? Do you like it? If you think there's anything I should change on it, let me know. I'm happy to fiddle with it a bit more.

Feel free to enter the Goodreads giveaway. I'm giving away 5 paperback copies.

#SexySnippets I know you are there #WIP #amwriting

Welcome back to the first Sexy Snippets of 2014.

This week I'm sharing more from Making Scandal as I continue writing Mark and Faith's story. One of the reason I love writing this story is that these two can go from intense to playful and vice versa. One minute I'm smiling as they tease each other, the next my heart is racing as the atmosphere tenses up.
This is the start of one of their playful scenes. It's a little longer than 7 sentences but I hope you'll forgive me.
~*~
I know you're there," his deep, tired voice jolted her.
Warmth spread across her chest as she smiled and stepped forward. "I was trying not to disturb you in case you were asleep."
"I can smell you."
"What?" She sniffed herself.
"Not like that." His low, husky laughter filled her living room and he angled his head to stare at her face. "You smell of sunshine and lavender. I love your scent."

Sharing My Resolutions - I am accountable

“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” — Walt Disney

This year I'm doing something different. I'm sharing some of my resolutions for the year with you lovely readers as part of me being more accountable for my goals.

In the past couple of years, I've let myself get more distracted by things that don't really matter in the scheme of things. In 2014, I aim to refocus on the things that matter to me most.

So I'm hoping that by making some of my resolutions public I can be held accountable for making them happen. You have permission to kick my ass if I slack off. J

Here are some of the things on my  to-do list:

#AmReading Around The World In 80 Books #ReadingChallenge

As part of my New Year resolution, I've signed up for the Around The World in 80 Books Reading Challenge hosted by Love Bites and Silk.

The aim of this challenge is to read books set in different locations across the globe.  This challenge is open to everyone. If you think you can't read up to 80 books in 2014, there are mini-challenges you can undertake and still win awards.

For example you can take up the green gem challenge and read 7 books based in the 7 continents. Visit Love Bites and Silk for the full details.

Since I read over 80 books in 2013, I'm hoping to undertake all the mini reading challenges, so I hope to read the 80 books by the end of 2014.
