That should not have happened #SexySnippets from Keeping Secrets

Welcome back to Sexy Snippets. This weekly meme is hosted by The Nuthouse Scribblers where we share seven sentences from a published book or work-in-progress. This week I've got more snippets from Keeping Secrets. In this scene, Felix has just kissed Ebony for the first time after waking from his coma, but Ebony is less than pleased about it.

I hope you enjoy the snippet. This is still undergoing edits, so please pardon any errors.

"That shouldn't have happened," her whispery voice sounded strained.
Disappointment punched his gut; scrubbing a hand over his face, he dropped his head and closed his eyes.
"Why?" The one-word query torn from his lips, grated over open sores.
"You said..."
Head lifted and eyes opened, he stared at her stiffened back, her green gold-embroidered tunic draped over round hips and thighs in skinny black denim. Those bum cheeks had cushioned his thighs moments ago and staring at them now, his arousal spiked.
If he pulled her back into his arms, would she let him spread her out on the bed and taste everything she had to offer?

Do you share @JorjaLovett's fascination with the Titanic? #TitanicsOndine #book

Happy Monday, sweeties! I've got a new guest for you this week. The lovely Jorja Lovett is back sharing from her latest book release, Titanic's Ondine. Please make her feel welcome.
Over to you, Jorja...

I've always had a fascination with the Titanic. It probably has a lot to do with living so close to Belfast, where she was built. One of the great things about being a writer is you can pick any time, any place in which to set a story, so it was always on the hot list of topics I wanted to cover. As ever, my version of that fateful voyage had to have a paranormal twist, and some superhot sexy times!

Be careful what you wish for #sexysnippets Keeping Secrets #asmsg

This week I've got more snippets from Keeping Secrets. You know how sometimes when we're really angry with someone, we wish bad things on them. Well, the phrase "be careful what you wish for" comes into play here.

I hope you enjoy the snippet. It's much longer than 7 sentences. But I needed the length to keep the context intact.

"I can help you get back at your husband for what he did to you."
"I don't want to get back at Felix."
"Don't you? After he humiliated you and broke his promises."
That disastrous night's event rushed through her mind, raising a storm of hurt and anger in its wake. Jaw clenched so tight her teeth ached, she fisted her hand.
Felix's words and actions had been akin to him reaching into her chest and ripping the beating heart out, damaging more than she'd thought possible.
Doubling over, she relieved the emotional trauma as if a physical blow unbalanced her. For the first time in her life she'd wanted to harm another human being. Exact pain upon him just like she'd experienced it.
Until she'd turned up at the hospital to find him hooked up to so many machines, fighting for his life. And she'd known her wish had manifested itself and nearly killed him. The guilt ate at her ever since.

Here is the draft blurb.

Have you ever loved someone and didn’t even know it?

That’s the dilemma facing Felix Essien when he wakes from a coma to find he is married to the most beautiful and sensual woman he’s ever known. He cannot remember her or their wedding. He who had sworn never to get married or to give his heart to another. Yet he feels an intense bond with her that he intends to explore fully.

Ebony can’t believe her good fortune when her paper husband wakes not remembering the temporary marriage arrangement with no intimacies he’d proposed but is now the adoring husband she’s always dreamt of. She plans to make the most of the passion blossoming between them.

However would he still feel that way when he regains his memory and realises she’s been keeping secrets and their marriage is not what he thinks it is.

I'm having a cover reveal event on April 4th. If you can help me out with hosting on your blog, please complete the form here. The cover reveal pack will be sent out with HTML, so all you have to do is copy and paste it. If you can help out, I'd be more than grateful.

Shower sex for the black woman? By @NanaPrah #Giveaway

Happy Monday, people! Today I have the vivacious Nana Prah with me talking about shower sex and her latest book Midwife to Destiny. She is a fab friend and a fellow member of Romance Writers of West Africa.

Please make her feel welcome and leave her a comment. She's also giving away an Amazon gift card to one lucky person.

Now over to Nana...

I would equate black women with cats. Other than being finicky and heavily sought after, the main reason is that we hate getting our hair wet. Hate it. Think about it for a second – how many black women do you know who are professional swimmers or divers? Hmmmm.  Any other sport we will delve into with gusto, but water sports- nuh uh.

When I read a scene in novel where the couple is having sex in the shower, I cringe, especially when the water sluices through the hair. First of all they’re not describing a black woman  unless:
1. She’s about to go get her hair done the next day
2. She sports a natural do
3. Is having sex in the shower for the very first time and wants to experiment (she’ll learn the consequences soon enough).

Thank you to everyone who helped me out last week with my POV dilemma. All your comments were really useful and I decided to settle with 3rd person for the Keeping Secrets manuscript.

Editing continues and I find I'm rewriting huge chunks of the story.I guess it's to be expected. This is the 3rd story I ever wrote. In fact I wrote it before all my currently published books. So it is going through an overhaul in preparation for a release date in late April/early May.

I'm having a cover reveal event on April 4th. If you can help me out with hosting on your blog, please complete the form here. The cover reveal pack will be sent out with HTML, so all you have to do is copy and paste it. If you can help out, I'd be more than grateful.

Now for my snippet. I think this scene speaks for itself. I hope you enjoy it.

The soft, regular sound of someone breathing in sleep caught his attention. In a shadowed corner of the room, Ebony lay curled up in a chair, elbow crooked under her head on the armrest, the book she'd been reading discarded on the floor. She looked so fragile, so beautiful in sleep. For a moment, Felix couldn’t breathe. Something held his heart in a vice. A smile curled his lips as warmth settled on his shoulders like a blanket. She'd come to see him, after all.

Sometimes doing a favor can change your life forever-Through The Dom's Lens @MamaD8 @EvernightPub #BBW

Happy Monday, people! I'm so excited this morning to have the lovely author Doris O'Connor on my blog. I'm a huge fan of her writing and I'm pleased to say she's also a friend too. She writes erotic romance with the perfect blend of the sexual, emotional and romantic elements, just the way I love it. Her latest interracial erotic romance book Through The Dom's Lens is no exception. This book is at the top of my TBR, just as soon as I send off edits to editor.
For now, please make her feel welcome as she explains what inspired this latest book.
Take it away, Doris....

Thank you so much for inviting Master J on your blog today, Kiru.
When Master J first popped into my head, I didn't know too much about him. I never do with my characters as I'm a complete and utter panster, but he very quickly became a strong voice, demanding I tell his story the way he saw it. When we first meet him he is rather disillusioned with life in general and with this photo shoot in particular.

Please HELP me with my experiment! #SexySnippets

Welcome back to Sexy Snippets. This weekly meme is hosted by The Nuthouse Scribblers where we share seven sentences from a published book or work-in-progress. This has been an exhausting week in KiruWorld when it comes to writing. Losts of changes abound. One of them is that I'm considering POV changes in from 3rd to 1st person for the Keeping Secrets manuscript.

So I'm going to do an experiment with you guys for my sexysnippets. I'm going to share the same 7 sentences from the start of the wip in 1st and 3rd person and let you tell me which you prefer. I am grateful for your help. Thank you.

Here's the 1st person POV

“Mrs. Essien, your husband is out of the coma.”
Phone pressed against one ear, the other hand reaching for the remote control, I bolted upright. My hand shook as I fumbled to mute the television news channel I'd been watching. The discarded controller clanked onto the clear glass-topped side table.
"D—did I hear you correctly? Felix is awake?" I couldn't hide the tremor in my voice nor relax my tight-knuckled grip on the overstuffed arm of the upholstered cream sofa. Disbelief warred with hope, trampling all over my troubled mind.

Here it is in 3rd person POV
