Chapter One

You’ll die a lonely man.

With ease Paul Arinze navigated the throng of people gathered at the party. He ignored the dire phrase echoing in his mind—words that had plagued him in the past few weeks. Instead, he keyed into the thrumming vibe of the urban music thumping out of hidden loudspeakers in the shiny black glass walls of the nightclub.

Q1) Can you tell us a little about yourself

I live in the Maryland area with my soul mate and my youngest child. My oldest is nineteen and has left the nest. I’ve adjusted, and my little bird is doing well.

A writer and lover of erotic romance/erotica, I write in genres ranging from contemporary, science fiction, paranormal, and futuristic.  I’m also a book cover artist and aspiring web designer.

Q2) Have you always wanted to be an author?

Looking back on my early childhood, I must say yes. I wrote short stories with talking animals, and even tried to draw. These little stories were like an escape for me. When I entered my teen years my auntie introduced me to romance books and that sealed my fate.  ; )

Earn my submission or bite me! #erotica vs #romance

This week's Thrusty Thursday post is a little early. But I have a book release on Friday, so I decided to post this today.

Also it's not a book review. Well, not it the normal sense. Still, It was triggered by a book I read recently. So while I'm not going to mention the actual title, I want to discuss the content.

It's no secret that as well as other romance categories, I read erotic romance and erotica. And for those who don't know the difference between the two, I'll help you out.

Wikipedia has a good definition of Erotic Romance:

"Erotic romance novels are stories written about the development of a romantic relationship through sexual interaction.[1] The sex is an inherent part of the story, character growth, and relationship development, and couldn’t be removed without damaging the storyline."

It goes on to say that...

"Erotic romance novels have romance as the main focus of the plot line, and they are characterized by strong, often explicit, sexual content.[3] The books can contain elements of any of the other romance subgenres, such as paranormal elements, chick lit, hen lit, historical fiction, etc. In fact, many erotic romance novels are often categorized by one of the categories already defined in the industry.

Erotic romance novels take the reader beyond the bedroom door where more traditional romance does not breach that barrier. The sex scenes, while explicit, are there for the purpose of character development."

~*~*~*~*~

Q1) Can you tell us a little about yourself

I live in Dallas and my first book, a contemporary romance, was published Dec 26, 2012. I have been writing since I was in high school but never took it seriously until a couple years ago. I work full time in HR and play with my granddaughter. I stay very busy between writing and having fun. Sometimes its hard to balance.

Q2) Have you always wanted to be an author?

I had poetry published but never really thought about becoming an author until after my daughter was grown and I seem to have too much time on my hands. I have a huge crush on Gerard Butler (movie actor - 300, Ugly Truth, P.S. I Love You, Bounty Hunter) and decided to do something with all my daydreaming.
