If you read my Mid-Week Tease, you'll know I'm writing again. Scores, to be precise. If you read the teaser, you'll also know it ended in a cliff-hanger of sorts. Well, I thought I'd share the next 7 sentences from the WIP. If you haven't read the MWT, you might want to read it to understand the context here. This is a first draft and unedited.

A test of trust this had to be. To stand still and not look back when all her instincts screamed at her to find out what was going on behind her.

Senses heightened, Selina listened out, breath held, holding perfectly still as her fingers gripped the railing tight.

"Good girl."

Approval. His words washed over her, settling on her skin like a warm blanket, comforting and safe. Exhaling, she relaxed a little as anticipation thrummed in her veins.

Soft lips brushed the edge of her ear lobe and wet, rough tongue licked a fiery path on the inside. Panting, she puffed air in and out of her open mouth as her body trembled uncontrollably.

Fight this...why?

Rational thinking flew out of the open window of the kitchen as his mouth continued its devastating trail down her neck.

One second she was trying to collect her thoughts, the next she was staring into his eyes and suddenly wishing she hadn't. His need burned bright in his dark eyes, a blazing star of craving in the midnight sky. She was sucked right into orbit, pulled into his soul.

I'm bringing you more snippets from my current WIP, Making Scandal the 2nd book in my contemporary romance series The Essien Trilogy coming next year via Decadent Publishing. I didn't complete this story in time for NaNoWriMo, bohoohoo. But at least I'm still writing it.
In this scene Mark and Faith are meeting for a second time. I think the snippet speaks for itself. I hope you enjoy it.

"Why didn't you return my call?" Mark asked after the waiter had taken their drinks orders.

"I've had a very busy week at work," Faith said, lifting her shoulder in a blasé shrug in an attempt to mask the more than casual sensations twirling in her belly.

"Is that the real reason or are you avoiding me?"

She glanced at him and lowered her gaze to the table, not wanting him to see how much he affected her.

"I'm not avoiding you, although I think we don't really have anything more to say to each other."

His hand settled on her left thigh, branding her with strength and heat, her fitted linen pencil skirt providing little protection for her awakening skin.

"There's still plenty we haven't said to each other."

“Idris, please...I can’t take much more of this.”

Yes, she was pleading despite her decision not to capitulate to his demand, begging him to satisfy the hunger gnawing in her stomach. Rahma allowed her eyelashes to flutter shut; not believing she’d said those words once they were out.

But, they were true words. His caresses had turned torturous. All she wanted now was some relief from the fever burning through her, threatening to drive her insane.

“Mine,” he whispered against her ear in a hoarse voice, the warmth of his breath sensitizing her skin.

I've been writing a new story--an erotic short story for an anthology with some of the fabulous ladies at The Nuthouse Scribblers. Something for the weekend - WIP excerpt

Hello readers, how are you all doing? I'm doing great. I've been busy, writing book 3 of Men of Valor series titled His Princess, working on editing book 2, His Strength, and of course preparing the PR for the release of book 1, His Treasure. It's only a few more days to 2 December. I can't wait. :o)

Just to let you know I haven't forgotten you all, here is an excerpt from a story I'm writing for an anthology coming out in February next year. It's a contemporary romance novella set Enugu, Nigeria titled A Valentine Challenge. In this excerpt H&H meet for the first time. This is just a first draft so bear with me. I hope you enjoy it.
