His touch scorched her #SexySnippets #ASMSG His Treasure

Welcome back to Sexy Snippets hosted by The Nuthouse Scribblers.
This week is the anniversary of being 3 years published and I want to share a snippet from my first ever published story, His Treasure, the first book in my historical romance series Men of Valor.

Somewhere within her mind something shifted. An awareness of Obinna at a primal level registered in her rapidly hazing brain.

The air suddenly felt warmer and her skin prickled. He took her fingers into his warm mouth in turn, twirling his moist tongue around each. Sensation flooded her body, and she forgot everything else she wanted to say. All she could feel was the stroke of his tongue on her fingers as he sucked and lapped each one.

His touch scorched her straight to her soul.

Here's the blurb:

In a time when men rule their households with firm hands, can a quiet man tame his rebellious wife with persevering love?

Angry at being forced to marry a man not of her choosing, Adaku stubbornly shuns her new husband on their wedding night. However, she soon discovers there are worse things than giving in to a man whose touch awakens her deep desires. In a land where fruitfulness is celebrated, she could soon be labeled a barren woman.

Obinna knows there are several ways to tame a rebellious woman. Patience and perseverance are two of them. Adaku is his treasure and he would never let her go. When her fears push her into his arms, will he be able to convince her to stay with him forever by unleashing the passion within her?

He watched her #SexySnippets #asmsg His Treasure-Men of Valor series

Welcome back to Sexy Snippets. This weekly meme is hosted by The Nuthouse Scribblers where we share seven sentences from a published book or work-in-progress. If you're a writer, feel free to join us by signing up at the Sexy Snippets page. Sign up opens every Tuesday and closes midnight every Saturday (UK time).

I've been feeling nostalgic this week and I decided to go back and read His Treasure, the first story I ever had published. Writers, do you ever do that? Go back and read your old stories. Well, I do. It gave me a lovely respite from editing.

Anyway, here's a snippet from His Treasure. Enjoy

He watched her. Her chest rose and fell,  her long, dark lashes fanned her cheeks. She was beautiful. Alluring. Captivating.
Sometimes he would sit up and watch her for hours while she slept.
Of course it didn’t help that he wanted to do more than just watch her. He wanted to touch her, taste her, fill her, spill into her, and then do it all over again.

He ached for his wife. He longed to go to her as she stood drying her body. He wanted to taste her sweet lips, feel her softness against his skin and sink into her warm depths again and again and again. Yet he didn’t move, but stood there watching her get dressed while he wanted to undress her.
This was madness.
If his friends saw him, they would laugh at him. What man ached for his wife and yet did nothing about it?

His Treasure Wins LRC Best Book Award plus RFW

Hello readers! I have two items to cover in this post.

Firstly. His Treasure is the LR Cafe Best Book of 2011 Winner!

If you remember my post where I'd mentioned the nominations and asked you to vote, I'd written that I wasn't expecting to win. I mean there were books in the same category from well established authors like Kat Martin, Kim Harrison and Sherrilyn Kenyon. Not to mention others. So I wasn't expecting to win. I mean, I was totally flabbergasted with the results. If you live anywhere near the south east of England and heard a woman screaming yesterday. That was probably me.

#1. Yay!! His Princess, book 3 in the Men of Valor historical romance series will be coming to you sometime in April/May 2012. I signed the contract with Breathless Press yesterday. I'm really excited about this story as it'll be my first full-length historical romance novel. I'll be sharing more about it soon. I can't wait to see what my cover artist will come up with this time.

New Year, New Cover, New Books

Hello everyone. Happy New Year! I hope that 2012 meets you healthy and hearty.

2011 was a fantastic year for me—I signed my first publishing contract and published my first book, meaning that I achieved a goal I’d set for myself at the beginning of the year. Read my thanksgiving postwhere I listed several reasons for me to be thankful in 2011.

For 2012, I have upped the ante on my goals, pushing myself even further. So I hope you’ll stay with me as I aim to break new grounds this year. This year, expect more from me. More projects, more excerpts, more freebies and more all round fun.
To kick off the New Year, I’d like to unveil the cover of my next book, His Strength, Men of Valor #2. It is out February 10, 2012. This is the story of Ikem and Nneka who are briefly mentioned in His Treasure. Visit My Books page to read the blurb. You can also read an excerpt. I’d like to thank my cover artist Mina Carter for capturing the characters very well. I love it. Don’t you? J

The Gift of Christmas

Hello readers! I hope your December is going great so far. Mine’s going brilliantly but still hectic. I don’t think my feet have touched the ground since the release of His Treasure. Whilst it’s still early days I’m delighted to say that I’m happy with the progress and daily interest in the book.

It’s still sitting in the top 5 Bestsellers over at Breathless Press and has been since before its release date. It’s currently a Bestseller over at All Romance eBooks in the Historical Ancient category. It’s in the top 20 in its categories (Historical & Interracial) over at the Bookstrand 30-day bestsellers made a brief entrance into the Amazon UK 100 best sellers in Adult Erotic Fiction. So all in all, I’d say we’re having a good month so far.

HIS TREASURE - Book Release Day & WD12

Finally, the day has arrived. My first book, HIS TREASURE, is out there, now available for readers to buy. I am excited and jubilant, humbled and thankful. Getting to this day has been quite a ride. There have been good days and bad days, happy days and sad days, writing days and procrastinating days.

I really have to acknowledge Nkem, Sukhi, Henza and Queenie who read the very first rough draft, liked it and pushed me to polish it for submission. I’m totally grateful to you and the others who saw the gem in the rough for its true potential.

I also have to mention my editor, Kristie, whom I must say is fantastic. One of her first comments back to me when we started editing was just so fabulous I feel like printing it out and framing it. LOL. But I’ll settle for sharing it with you here.

Winners, Free books & Good cheer!

Hello readers! It’s December 1. Yippee! A very exciting month for me this year and not just because of Christmas. But before I get to the good things coming this month, let’s have a quick recap of the successes from November.

I’m a NaNoWriMo winner! Despite all the other deadlines that I had in November, I still managed to meet the 50k word challenge for the month. I have to admit I only managed to hit it at 10pm last night (I typed about of 6k words yesterday) but I did it.

I’ve also completed the first draft of a story to be published in a Valentine Anthology by Romance Writers of West Africa. I just need to work on polishing it off now. An excerpt of the first chapter of the story titled A VALENTINE CHALLENGE is available here.
