In the meantime, I'm sharing an excerpt from Kola, the 4th book in the Essien Series.
"Let me do that
for you."
The sexy, masculine
voice sounded so close. So intimate. A shiver ran down her spine. She glanced
over her shoulder at the man standing beside her. Her pulse skyrocketed.
Kola. Tall, dark, and hot
in his tuxedo suit, the silk jacket stretched across wide chest and shoulders,
the trousers hugging well-toned thigh muscles.
A throbbing began
between her legs, matching the pulsing in her chest. Her gaze travelled up to
his face. He stared at her with a bemused expression. Her cheeks heated. He'd
caught her staring.
He was her cousin, for
goodness’ sake. Lusting after him could only lead to trouble. For one, she had
a fiancé. Secondly, incest was taboo. She couldn’t blame her response on
alcohol. She hadn't taken a sip yet. It must be that she'd never seen him in
such a formal outfit before. It looked too damn good on him.
"Let me," he
said. Although his voice sounded gentle, there lay something unyielding in the
tone.
A shimmer of heat
washed over her skin. She cleared her throat and said, "Of course."
As he gripped the back
of the chair, his fingers brushed hers. A shard of electricity travelled
through her and she dropped her hand.
"Here." He pulled
the chair back.
"Thanks,"
she replied and settled into the seat.
"You're welcome,"
he said and lowered his head to only inches from her face, one arm resting on
the table, the other on the chair back. With no one else close by, the stance
spoke of intimacy. Her hands trembled. For one crazy moment, she thought he
would brush his lips against her skin. She tilted her head and met his gaze.
His eyes reminded her of chocolate, and his skin of dark-roasted coffee beans.
Two food items she could never resist.
"Here you are."
The sound of someone
else's presence broke the spell on her.
Kola straightened. "You
look stunning tonight, Tari."
Before she could
respond, he walked away. Tari gave her attention to Natasha, glad for the
interruption. She didn't know what the hell just happened and she wasn't even
going to bother analysing it.
Here's the blurb
When
sassy heiress Tari Essien needs a place to escape the pressures of the hounding
press, she turns to Kola Banks, a deeply scarred ex-soldier who's also the
Essien chief of security. Kola can't offer Tari anything more than his
protection. She's family, for goodness sake, even if they share no blood ties.
It’s
a weekend of lessons for both of them. Together, they can't avoid the explosive
heat that sizzles between them, nor help pushing each others' boundaries
physically as well as emotionally.
But
when the weekend ends and Tari's life is in danger, will Kola put his body as
well as his heart in the line of fire to keep her safe?
