We all love reading about the sexy heroes in romance novels. They can be successful, tough, charismatic, rebellious, dangerous, charming, fearless, protective, possessive, brooding, unforgiving, sensitive and even sweet.
And we love them.
Yet there are times when the heroine feels betrayed either by their words or actions. We feel her emotional pain and anger. There's no way we would forgive his heartbreak easily unless he comes back grovelling, shows sincere heart-felt remorse or even puts his life on the line to prove his love for the heroine.
Then we can exhale again and go 'aww' and perhaps shed a few happy tears. As romance readers we put ourselves through the emotional roller-coaster when reading fiction for moments like this.
I have a couple of stories that are 'page-turners' and will put you through a 'gamut of emotions'.
ISLAND BOUND
When Christy Inemi-Spiff discovers that the man she vowed to love and honor has no such feelings for her, she is determined to cut her losses and move on with her life. A quick, quiet divorce is all she wishes….However, Joshua has other ideas. He’s not ready to walk away yet, especially when he doesn’t understand why Christy wants out of their marriage. So he demands she agree to spend a quiet Christmas on a remote African Island with him, hoping they can salvage their relationship. If she still wants a divorce after these two weeks, he will let her go. But not before he’s had his fill of her.
But with the sparking tension between them, and the secrets behind the disintegration of their marriage threatening to explode, will either of them get their wish? Or will this season of good will show them what really lies at the bottom of their hearts?

A VALENTINE CHALLENGE
Socialite Kasie Bosa is spitting fire at men. Her long-term boyfriend has asked for a break via text message of all things. How dare he? She’s told him to go take a dive into the River Niger. And not so politely too. So the next man who dares to cross her path is at risk of getting shredded with her spa manicured nails.
Bad news for Michael who has chosen her as the object of his challenge. But neither of them can deny the sizzling chemistry between them nor control their responses, it seems. It’s the season of love. Can either of them escape unscathed?

I love Hardwick from Allie Mackay's Tall, Dark and Kilted. Hardwick was a love em and leave em type of man when he was alive and now in the afterlife he is cursed to pleasure a different woman everynight without his own fulfillment until one lass arrives in Scotland from Pennsylvania to maybe give him a chance of redemption.
